Towerwood 2022

And they are off ..... waved off by their buddies.

Year 5 and Year 6 end of year residential stay at Towerwood Centre.

 

Please find below details and documents relating to this year's residential trip.

 

All children need to arrive at school at 8:30am on Friday 24th June.

Please make sure they have packed the appropriate clothing as stated on the kit list and they are able to carry/manage their own luggage. The coach will leave school at 9:15am.

 

Children will leave Towerwood on Sunday 26th June at 2pm.

They are expected to arrive back at school at 3:15pm. 

 

If there are any changes to these times a message will be put on the Year 5 and Year 6 What's App groups as well as on the website main page.

Please make sure you check these before setting off to school on Sunday 26th June. 

 

 

Tower Wood Kit List - 2022

 

Many items of clothing are likely to get wet. It is often underestimated how many warm clothes are needed to ensure that the activities are enjoyed, whatever the weather.

 

Clothing/Shoes

 

  • 3 / 4 complete changes of clothes
  • Old, thick jumpers (fleeces are particularly good)
  • Pairs of old tracksuit bottoms or similar (Jeans are unsuitable for outdoor activities)
  • Thick socks (3/4 pairs)
  • 3 pairs of shoes (1 pair for indoors, e.g. slippers, 1 pair for outdoors, 1 old pair of trainers or water shoes for use on the lake)
  • Shorts
  • T-shirts
  • Swimming costume
  • Underwear   
  • Night clothes
  • Woolly hat and gloves/mittens
  • Toiletries                               
  • 2 Towels
  • Sun hat/cream (summer months)
  • Insect repellent (not aerosols)

 

Other Items

                                               

  • Torch and batteries                                                             
  • Plastic sandwich box
  • Water bottle

This should be large enough to contain sufficient drink for a full day outdoors. We strongly recommend that group members bring a stainless steel (not glass) flask for hot drinks. Remember not to drink straight from the flask to avoid burns – use the cup provided on the top of most flasks.

  • Bin bags for wet clothes (at least 3)
  • Hand Soap (this is only provided in the communal bathrooms)

 

Medical

 

Any medication needed or mentioned on medical forms

 

Specialist Equipment: If you have the following bring them with you, otherwise they will be provided:

 

  • Walking Boots
  • Wetsuit
  • Small Rucksack
  • Wellingtons
  • Waterproof top and trousers

All other specialist equipment will be provided by Tower Wood.

 

No phones or electrical equipment. No valuables. No aerosols.
