Academic Year 2019-2020
Class 1 is taught by Mrs Maidens.
Our Teaching Assistant is Miss Porter Brown who works with us every day.
In our class we have 30 children altogether. There are 20 EYFS and 10 Year One children.
Our current topic is based on 'What have explorers discovered about our wonderful world.'
We are learning about seas and oceans and what lives in them. We are also looking at different countries around the world to help us appreciate God's wonderful creation as well as learning about the brave explorers who first discovered some of them.
Year 1 are reading the book 'Captain Sparklebeard and using maps / atlases to identify real life geographical features.
Please see the Learning overview below for further details.
PE days - Tuesday and Friday
Reading books are changed on Tuesday and Friday for EYFS and Monday, Wednesday and Friday for Year 1.
Year 1 homework (maths questions and spellings) are sent home every Friday to learn for the following Friday.
Keep checking our web page and our parent noticeboard to find out what is going on in our class this year.
We are the church on the hill, the light that brings Jesus in to the lives of all in our community
Believing, Learning and Sharing Together
We have been exploring our Christian Values in school and have chosen to show these in our Class Worship area. We try to show compassion courage, humility, joy, responsibility and love as well as many more values everyday, in and out of school. We try hard to be the best people we can be!
Reception and Year 6 Buddies:
Year 6 are thoroughly enjoying their new role as buddies for our new reception children.
One parent recently said that: You have some very kind and happy pupils at your school...
and that her son's Year 6 buddy not only treated his reception charge with kindness, but that they also both played well together in spite of the age gap.
