Below is our timetable for the Autumn term alongside some key information.
PE days are each Wednesday and Thursday.
Every Thursday or Friday your child will bring home their reading books, to be read, commented on and to be returned the following Thursday. Year 2 children will receive 1 or 2 books at a time. Please read little and often throughout the week, ideally 5 minutes a day.
Year 1 children will bring home one reading book per week, to be read in full four times over the week, each time building on fluency, expression and comprehension.
On Fridays all the children will receive a piece of maths homework and spellings.
The spellings will be based on the phonic pattern or spelling rule learned in class during the week. This will be sent home each Friday and there will be information about various methods that you can use to help your child learn how to spell the words. The children need to apply the phonic patterns that they are learning alongside visual memory of the correct way to spell the words and our spelling activities are aimed to support visual memory.
The maths homework will relate to the area of maths we have been covering in lessons that week and will be marked on Fridays.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
