Online safety is not about avoiding or being sacred of using technology, but it is about knowing how to behave positively when using it. Therefore in order to keep everyone safe in school, we have a set of behaviours which must be adhered to when using different technology. These behaviours are not just important to use in school, but need to be modelled at home too.
We want all our children to become knowledge and enjoy using technology in a safe and healthy way so that they are able to build their risk awareness and know how to keep themselves and others safe from a wide range of abuse including; cyberbullying, radicalisation, inappropriate content, social media trends and challenges, grooming, gaming and being exploited or exposed to sexual images and contents.
Acceptable behaviour / use agreements are the first steps in ensuring children, parents and all adults in school understand there is a need to behave in the online/virtual world in the same positive way they behave in the living one.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Matthew 7:12
