Sustainability Day
How our school is making a difference to our local environment and the world beyond.
Using reclaimed tractor and digger tyres we have created new planning beds for wild flowers to encourage and attract pollinators to our grounds.
With the help of volunteers and through the generous donation of old pallets we have created a log bug house for our local insects and creatures.
It has already attracted a few including Kevin the snail!
We have also used natural materials to create our own hedge as well as used recycled plastic bottles to create a barrier around the garden area in school.
Every child was given the opportunity to get creative using natural materials. This included making some wall art using gravel, painting stones and creating a recycled plastic bottle top tree.
Big hands or small - everyone used hack saws, drills and wood cutting equipment to create tin can bird feeders to hang in our school trees and to take home for their own gardens.
