Learning Together

Forest School

God's world is full of awe and wonder and Forest School allows us to appreciate it.

The LORD God caused every tree that is both beautiful and suitable for food to spring up out of the ground. The tree of life was also in the middle of the garden, along with the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:9

Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.

Children are taught to:

  • be equal, unique and valuable
  • be competent to explore & discover
  • experience appropriate risk and challenge
  • choose, and to initiate and drive their own learning and development
  • experience regular success
  • develop positive relationships with themselves and other people
  • develop a strong, positive relationship with their natural world.

Mrs Newton is our lead teacher for Forest School and she supports children on a weekly basis to develop their curiosity and understanding of the natural environment around school.
