Welcome back!!! Academic Year 2018-2019
Class 1 is taught by Mrs G. McPherson. Our Teaching Assistant is Mrs L. Devine who works with us every day.
In our class we have 30 children altogether. There are 20 EYFS and 10 Year One children.
Our current topic is 'The Place Where I Live.'
In English Year 1 are focussing on stories with familiar settings, poetry and information texts.
Our last class story was 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea' and we all loved having our Tiger Tea Party!
EYFS have also been focussing on the story 'Owl Babies.'
PE days - Tuesday and Friday
Reading books are changed on Tuesday and Friday for EYFS and Monday, Wednesday and Friday for Year 1.
Year 1 homework (maths questions and spellings) are sent home every Friday to learn for the following Friday.
Keep checking our web page and our parent noticeboard to find out what is going on in our class this year.
Elf on the shelf
Elvis the Elf is back in Class 1 and he is causing all sorts of trouble!
We are writing some questions to ask him and showing him how to behave in school! I hope he learns his manners soon!
Reception and Year 6 Buddies:
Year 6 are thoroughly enjoying their new role as buddies for our new reception children.
One parent recently said that: You have some very kind and happy pupils at your school...
and that her son's Year 6 buddy not only treated his reception charge with kindness, but that they also both played well together in spite of the age gap.
Where everyone belongs and does their best. With Jesus in our hearts, work and play.
We have been exploring our Christian Values in school and have chosen to show these in our Class Worship area. We try to show trust, compassion, love, friendship, peace, generosity and many more values everyday, in and out of school. We try hard to be the best people we can be!
