As you are aware the 2017 key stage 2 SATS tests were taken by Year 6 children in May and they assess the new, more challenging national curriculum which was introduced in 2014 (when your children entered year 4). Results are no longer reported in levels. Instead each pupil now received their test results as a scaled score and teacher assessments are based in the standards in the interim framework issued by the Department for Education.

On 4th July the Department of Education published the following provisional national attainment data which might help you better understand the performance of our school in relation to the national picture.

Nationally: 61% of pupils reached the expected standard in reading, Writing and Mathematics combined.

Mellor St Mary: 71% of pupils reached the expected standard in reading, Writing and Mathematics combined.
